Zhang KONYOUNG served as the 21st chairman of the Inter Milan club

Xinhua News Agency, Rome, October 26th, Italian giants Inter Milan announced on the 26th that after the election of the board of directors, Zhang KONYOUNG became the 21st chairman of the club. The 26-year-old Zhang KONYOUNG became the youngest chairman in the history of Inter Milan.

Suning Group of China acquired 70% of the shares of Inter Milan in 2016, while Zhang KONYOUNG is the son of Zhang Near East, chairman of Suning Group.

Zhang graduated from the University of Pennsylvania KONYOUNG and worked in several financial institutions and investment banks. He served as a director of the Inter Milan club in 2016 and took over the operation and management affairs of the club in 2017. Since March 2018, Zhang KONYOUNG has also served as a member of the Uefa club competition committee and participated in relevant decisions.

Under the management of Zhang KONYOUNG, Inter Milan’s overall finance has maintained a continuous improvement in the past two years, and its brand value and commercial value have also been improved, in 2018, the brand value of the club increased by more than 100%, reaching 0.389 billion euros, ranking 13th in the world among football clubs.

For the chairman of a century-old European giant, Zhang KONYOUNG said frankly that this was a huge responsibility. He said: “I am very proud that starting today, I can lead Inter Milan to start a new era. It is my duty to let Inter fans around the world release their passion. On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the birth of this great club, I am fully prepared to meet all challenges.”

Zhang KONYOUNG announced the future plan of Inter Milan in his inaugural speech. The club will comprehensively improve its competitive performance, business revenue, brand promotion and internationalization. Zhang KONYOUNG said: “pursuing the first place in the field of competition is the top priority of the club. We will ensure that the team gets all necessary support and has the strongest competitiveness.”
