This year’s national figure skating championships just ended in Harbin. Yan Han, who once won the seventh place of men’s singles in the Sochi Winter Olympics, did not participate in the competition. Yan Jian told Xinhua News Agency that Yan Han’s physical condition recovered well. He expected to go to the United States early next year for the arrangement of free skating and new movements of short programs, and strive to return to participate in domestic and international competitions next season.
“Our training team was just established in September. Yan Han and Wang Yi, two key players of men’s singles, have had injuries before, so the recent focus is on the recovery of body and training.” Yan Jian said, “At present, Yan Han’s physical condition has recovered well and his mental state is also very full. The completion of three and a half weeks of jumping in training is very good, we are not in a hurry to let him jump around. Judging from Yan Han’s ability to slide and perform, I think he is fully capable of returning to the game next season.”
Wang Yi is another key player of the national team of pangqing Jianhua skating. He was elected to the national team and later retired because of a knee injury. He became a coach for more than two years. Now, he is in good condition, and the quality of three and a half weeks is also very high.
The two young generals Qu Zhibo and Rong Qinglong of the national training team of pangqing Jianhua skating participated in this national championship and won the fifth and sixth men’s singles respectively. Among them, rongqinglong ranked third in the short program competition, but it was slightly nervous in the free skating competition, and the total score retreated to the sixth place.
Yan Jian said that in the few months since the establishment of the training team, he and Pang Qing have been working hard to promote all kinds of work, one of which is very important is to seek cooperation with Beijing Sports University, the cooperation of units such as the coal mining troupe makes plans for the athletes’ student status and future way out, and solves the worries of athletes. Starting from next year, the team will seek key breakthroughs in training and competition.
