Xinhua News Agency, Changsha, September 18 (Reporter Ruan around, yuan Ruting) the competition results of the 7th WWL wing flight World Championship 2018 were announced on the 18th. In the target competition, Zhang Shupeng, the only Chinese player and the only Asian player, won the third place.

In this competition, the reporter witnessed Zhang Shupeng, a young man from Inner Mongolia, jumping down from the towering mountain of Zhangjiajie Tianmenshan Mountain and flying rapidly. During the match, the reporter interviewed him.

Zhang Shupeng was the first Chinese player to appear in the world championship of wing-mounted flying. Before he was engaged in wing-mounted flying, he was a member of the paraglider national team and won the paraglider world championship, more than 15000 flights have been completed in 11 years.

In 2012, Zhang Shupeng watched the first world championship of wing-mounted flying at Tianmen Mountain. The charm of this sport inspired his determination to engage in wing-mounted flying. In 2013, he went to America to study skydiving in Arizona first. “On March 15, 2013, I clearly remember that it was the day when I jumped to the 207th jump, and then I got the license to learn wing-mounted flight.”

Coach James Bohr said that Zhang Shupeng was a world-class miracle of the Chinese in this field. “Other players may jump three or four times a day in training, but I have to jump nine or ten times a day. On the day when I practice the hardest, I jump 12 times.” Zhang Shupeng said that flying fast, accurate and far is the goal he has been striving.

Take off, accelerate, slow down, turn…… The movements of wing-mounted flying athletes in the air are all completed by adjusting their body posture. Zhang Shupeng said that before each flight, he would adjust himself to a peaceful and relaxed state. Now, he has left an eagle in the sky of America, Italy and Switzerland.

“Flying in I am is essential. This is my hobby and my profession. I yearn for the sky. The feeling of wing-mounted flight is freer, just like the growth of wings, which cannot be realized by other movements.” Zhang Shupeng said.

In the more than 20 years since the birth of wing-mounted flight, there have been few Chinese in this extreme sport. Zhang Shupeng not only became a top-level wing-mounted flying athlete in China and even Asia, but also represented China for the first time in 2016 in the world championship of wing-mounted flying. In 2017, in 2018, the two world championships ranked the top three in the target competition.
