After winning the Asian Games, the Chinese women’s volleyball team began to prepare for the world championship without stopping. Even during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, there was no rest. The day before going to Japan, the Chinese women’s volleyball team announced the list of 14 participants, including Zhu Ting, Zhang Changning and other famous generals.
According to the schedule, the 24 participating teams in this world championship are divided into 4 groups, 6 teams in each group. The Chinese team is divided into Group B, and the opponents in the same group are Italy, Turkey, Bulgaria, cuba and Canada. The top four of the four groups entered the second stage. In this stage, 16 teams were divided into two groups, and the top three of each group entered the top six. After arriving in Sapporo, the host of Group B competition, the Chinese team immediately went into training.
The World Championship is one of the traditional volleyball “three competitions”. The Chinese team won the championship twice in 1982 and 1986. In the last Italian world championships, Lang Ping’s Chinese women’s volleyball team lost to the US team in the final.
On the 29th, the Chinese team will usher in the first contest, the opponent is the Cuban team.
